Serving Cardiovascular Patients across the Nation
HCA Healthcare’s Cardiovascular Service Line is one of the largest and strongest service lines within HCA and across the United States, based on volume, growth, and market share as well as a number of other operational and clinical performance metrics. Our services are matched to the needs of the communities we serve, spanning the entire continuum, including cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology and cardiovascular and vascular surgery.
Furthermore, our market-based approach allows us to provide comprehensive service line offerings within our major markets to care for complex cardiovascular patient populations including: heart failure (ventricular assist devices and transplantation), adult congenital heart disease, cardio-oncology, advanced imaging (cardiac CT, MRI, PET, etc.), complex PCI (CTO and protected PCI), peripheral vascular disease (percutaneous and surgical), structural and valvular heart (TAVR, mitral valve repair, septal defects and left atrial appendage occlusion), electrophysiology (atrial fibrillation and advanced ablation) and advanced surgery (valvular repair, aortic disease, minimally-invasive surgery and robotics). Furthermore, we are focused on clinical performance, in part through participation in the ACC NCDR and STS registries, amongst others, as well as cardiovascular research, with over 50 programs and a broad, national research network.
By maximizing our size, scale and performance, HCA Healthcare can invest in the people, processes, technology and infrastructure needed to excel in today’s cardiovascular healthcare environment. HCA is well-position for today and the future, making it an ideal partner for providers at any stage of their career. HCA’s Cardiovascular Service Line and related teams work in lock-step fashion with providers, administrative personnel and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure shared governance, voice and strategies for success today and for the future, while providing the tools and resources needed for cardiovascular excellence across a number of strategic pillars:
Service Line Development – Ensure market-based service line governance exists for a robust, multi-year cardiovascular strategic plan inclusive of physician engagement and advanced analytics.
Program Development – Develop new programs and optimize existing programs for growth; proactively identify opportunities for and drive healthcare value strategies and enhance cardiovascular research.
Physician Development – Develop HCA as the provider of choice including satisfaction and service by supporting physician voice, leadership development, engagement, recruitment and alignment.
Care Coordination Development – Provide patient care coordination and delivery via dedicated Nurse Navigators and Patient Care Coordinators to ensure appropriate identification and follow-up of patients with cardiovascular healthcare needs.
Helping Physicians Become Cardiovascular Healthcare Leaders
The patient and provider-centric culture of HCA, coupled with the resources of the Cardiovascular Service Line, provides abundant local, regional and national leadership and development opportunities for physicians to advance their careers and influence the cardiovascular field via leadership roles, both within and beyond HCA. Hundreds of HCA-affiliated and HCA-employed physicians serve on Cardiovascular Service Line Operations and/or Governance Councils, working groups and other committees focused on strategy, operations, clinical performance, and satisfaction. Additionally, many of our physicians hold local, regional and national leadership roles in national medical and cardiovascular organizations, such as ACC, AHA, STS, AATS, TCT, SCAI, etc.
In addition, through our national cardiovascular research network, we conduct notable research and regularly publish in peer-reviewed medical journals. In part through our recruitment efforts, we are rapidly growing the number of cardiovascular physicians who appreciate the career satisfaction which comes from these endeavors and collaboration with other world-class physicians who trained and/or served as faculty at some of the nation’s leading academic medical centers.
Lastly, HCA is becoming a national leader in medical education, with an increasing number of graduate medical education (GME) programs, allowing our physicians the opportunity to play an active role in the training of the next generation of physicians.
Investing in the Future of Cardiovascular Health
With a growing company that invests in patient care, HCA will support your practice every step of the way. We offer exceptional opportunities for you to expand your practice, excel in the field of cardiovascular care and improve cardiovascular health on a global scale.
Our company is built on an ethical foundation that has put HCA on the World’s Most Ethical Companies list for the past eight years. A patient-first approach compels us to invest in the best people, the best technology, and the best administrative infrastructure, and incidentally, that approach makes our physicians highly satisfied as well. The strong and efficient administrative backbone of one of the world’s largest healthcare systems relieves the business burden of running a practice and allows our physicians to focus on treating patients.
Given HCA’s size and growth, there are often over 100 cardiovascular physician opportunities (affiliated and employment) at any time, amongst the approximately 4,000 cardiovascular physicians who practice with HCA. Many of these physicians trained at leading programs across the U.S. and beyond and some are likely individuals you already know. We would be happy to connect you with friends and colleagues who already practice with HCA.
