Job SummaryTulane University Heart and Vascular Institute is seeking a qualified general cardiologist with a vascular specialty to join our faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine.
This appointment will include general cardiology and vascular coverage at Tulane University Hospital and Clinic, and the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Healthcare System. This faculty member will have outpatient clinic responsibilities at these sites and at the Institute’s outreach outpatient clinics and will be responsible for hospital service in rotation with other University cardiologists for after hours and weekend cardiology coverage.
Teaching responsibilities include formal and informal teaching activities for medicine residents, cardiology fellows, and medical students and attending and facilitating and/ or participating in cardiology conferences. This position provides opportunities to participate in serving on medical school and/or hospital committees as determined by the Director of TUHVI.
Candidates must be a Doctor of Medicine; be Board Certified and successfully completed a cardiology fellowship or advanced training program. The ideal candidate should have successfully completed the Vascular Boards, possess good administrative and interpersonal skills as well as clinical expertise in Cardiology. Established track records in student and resident medical education. Opportunities in interdisciplinary programs in clinical and/or basic research are available to enhance the applicant’s interest in either clinical or academic research.
This is a full time faculty appointment with Tulane University School of Medicine. As a University employed faculty member, you will receive a negotiable salary and academic appointment commensurate with experience, and a fully comprehensive benefits package, and relocation allowance.
