Ocala Health is the health organization which encompasses Ocala Regional Medical Center, a 214-bed facility located in the heart of Ocala, and West Marion Community Hospital, a 94-bed hospital located in West Marion County. The organization includes the only Commission on Cancer approved cancer center in Marion County and inpatient Joint Care Center. Job SummaryOcala Health, located in Ocala, Florida, in conjunction with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine (UCF COM) and Sheridan Healthcare, is seeking applicants for Emergency Medicine Teaching faculty.
The UCF COM/HCA GME Consortium has applied for an Emergency Medicine Residency at Ocala Regional Medical Center. Teaching faculty will be employed by Sheridan Healthcare and will receive faculty appointments and collaborate with other UCF COM faculty. The main UCF COM campus offers state-of-the-art medical education and research facilities and is located in Lake Nona Medical City, near Orlando.
The incoming physicians will join the residency program director in building a community academic center of excellence that will offers its residents the education and training they need to develop personal, clinical, and professional competence under the guidance and supervision of a knowledgeable faculty and skilled staff.
• Must be board eligible / board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine
• Previous educational background preferred
• Involvement with scholarly activity preferred (peer-reviewed publications).
Ocala Regional Medical Center is part of Ocala Health System, a two-facility health system with 270 beds. They are a Level II Trauma Center, providing the first and only trauma center in Marion, Hernando and Citrus counties. They have 80,000 in annual adult ED visits and Meditech documentation.
