Job SummaryThe University of Central Florida (UCF) College of Medicine in partnership with Osceola Regional Medical Center and the Orlando VAMC is seeking an Associate Program Director to assist with leading the development and implementation of a Psychiatry Residency Program. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, motivated leader to have input on building/running a program. ACGME application has been submitted and we are ready to add additional leadership faculty to help take us to the next level.
Qualifications of the program director must include:
* Experience as a psychiatry faculty member, APD experience preferred or fellowship teaching.
* Current certification in the specialty by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
* Be willing to combine Administrative and clinical Responsibilities (75/25).
* Have strong administrative and team building skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Record of scholarly activity including recent peer-review publications and interest in promoting research among residents and faculty.
The Associate Program Director will be based at ORMC, but will have a faculty appointment at UCF. Residents will also rotate at the brand new Orlando VA Medical Center, a 134 -bed facility with 20 inpatient mental health beds in Lake Nona Medical City, where experiences in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, consultation liaison, emergency psychiatry, addiction psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry are available. The Orlando VA also offers opportunities for rotations at the Lake Nona Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation and Treatment Program, the Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program, the Primary Care Mental Health Integration Program, and the Home-based Primary Care Program. The UCF Health Sciences campus, also located in Lake Nona, includes state-of-the-art medical education and research facilities.
