Rapides Regional Medical Center offers a wide array of services including general medicine, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, bypass surgery, cardiac rehabilitation, neurology, neurosurgery, intensive care and telemetry, oncology services, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedic services, physical therapy, skilled nursing services, respiratory therapy, lithotripsy and various outpatient services. At the beginning of 2012, Rapides Regional Medical Center became the first verified Level II Trauma Center in Louisiana. The medical staff includes physicians in more than 30 medical specialties.
Rapides Regional Medical Center set a shining example by becoming a three-time winner of the Louisiana Quality Award. In 1993, the operating assets and name of Rapides Regional Medical Center were sold to Central Louisiana Healthcare Systems Partnership. Then, in 1998, the joint venture restructured to a limited liability corporation - Rapides Healthcare System. Today, HCA continues to own a 74% interest and Rapides Foundation owns a 26% interest in the Rapides Healthcare System. The RHS board is represented by an equal third representation of HCA appointees, physicians and Rapides Foundation appointees.

Job SummaryRapides Regional Medical Center is actively recruiting an OB/GYN physician to join our new Hospitalist program on the campus of our Women’s Hospital. We are currently searching for a Board Certified OB/GYN physician with a minimum of 2-3 years active experience that will be employed as a full-time Hospitalists to cover between twelve to fifteen 12-hour shifts per month, including weekdays and weekends. PRN shifts are also available. Responsibilities may include delivering babies, handling unassigned and walk-in patients, seeing in-patients for office-based physicians when they're unavailable, call coverage for office-based physicians, starting deliveries or assisting office-based OB/GYNs in C-sections and other surgeries. Our hospital has 320 total beds, 2020 total deliveries in 2014, 10 Labor/Delivery/Recovery suites, 5 Onsite Surgery Suites, 26 bed OB/Post Partum Unit, 29 bed well baby nursery, 19 bed Pediatric Unit, Level 3 NICU, 32 bed New Born Intensive Care Unit staffed by 2 Neonatologist & specialty trained nurses, and a 6 bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit staffed by Pediatric Intensivists. Basic terms of employment include a flat rate per shift (12 hours per shift) plus malpractice.
