Methodist Children's Hospital features the region's only blood and marrow stem cell transplant program offering home for children with leukemia, sickle cell anemia and immunodeficiency syndromes such as SCIDS (severe comprised immune deficiency syndrome). In addition, Methodist Children's Hospital has a complete unit devoted to hematology, oncology and transplants.
The Methodist Children's Heart Institute features a multidisciplinary team of experienced board-certified pediatric cardiologists dedicated to complex congenital cardiac and thoracic diseases, from prenatal diagnosis through adulthood. With six cardiac catheterization suites, the Methodist Children's Heart Institute is the only hospital in South Texas providing interventional and diagnostic procedures including PDA coils, balloon septostomies, balloon dilations and ASD device closures. Cardiothoracic specialty areas include neonatal and infant heart surgery, single ventricle and hypoplastic left heart syndrome, arrhythmia surgery, beating heart surgery, cardiac failure and mechanical support.

This dynamic group is committed to providing the highest level of patient care. Their current areas of expertise include pediatric orthopedic trauma, spinal deformity surgery, reconstructive pediatric orthopedic surgery, general pediatric orthopedic surgery, and sports medicine. In addition to expanding their general pediatric orthopedic surgery, the group will continue to develop in limb lengthening and major limb deformity surgery, sports medicine, and reconstructive surgery of congenital problems of the hands and upper extremities. Additionally, the group has the flexibility of accommodating special interests and areas of expertise that a new physician may wish to contribute.
The group’s clinic volume is tremendous and their practice as a whole continues to grow. They have a referral base that covers an estimated three million people extending as far as San Angelo, Texas; south down to the Texas/Mexico border, the Texas Hill County , and as far east as New Braunfels and Victoria, Texas. Current call coverage arrangement is shared with all physicians and included every fifth day and fifth weekend.
