The Pediatric Neurosurgery Center at Medical City Children's Hospital offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment services for cranial and spinal cord disorders and cares for children as well as adults with congenital conditions.
The Pediatric Neurosurgery Center contributes to the multidisciplinary treatment of conditions—such as epilepsy, spasticity, and craniofacial and other congenital anomalies—where follow-up involves many specialists. The Center also is actively involved in the advancement of clinical and basic science research through new clinical therapies and the promotion of Dallas as a center for pediatric neurosurgery education.
The Neuroscience Program also provides perinatal consultation services for families with pregnancies in which central nervous system congenital anomalies such as spina bifida and hydrocephalus have been diagnosed. Medical City and Medical City Children’s Hospital provide the only place in North Texas that can support both the mother’s care during birth and surgery for fetal anomalies.
