We also opened Neurosurgical Specialists of North Florida in order to provide comprehensive neurosurgical care, specifically cranial procedures. Over the past few years, North Florida Regional has undergone several expansions and is now a 432-bed, full-service medical and surgical acute care center serving residents throughout North Central Florida.

In addition, the UCF College of Medicine HCA GME Consortium is developing community based programs to produce outstanding physicians who will meet the growing healthcare needs of our community. Together, they have opened a successful Family Medicine program in 2015 and Internal Medicine will open in 2016 with several new programs slated for the near future.

Job Summary

North Florida Regional Medical Center, an HCA-affiliated facility, located in Gainesville, Florida, in conjunction with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine (UCF COM), is seeking internal medicine teaching faculty applicants for a new ACGME-accredited residency training program. The UCF COM/HCA GME Consortium Internal Medicine residency program is accredited for 45 residents and seeks teaching faculty to practice in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting. Teaching physicians will receive faculty appointments and collaborate with other UCF COM faculty. The main UCF COM campus offers state-of-the-art medical education and research facilities and is located in Lake Nona Medical City, near Orlando.

The ideal candidate must be board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and should have at least 2 years of experience as a faculty member. Candidates with less than 2 years faculty experience who have extensive teaching experience as either a fellow or chief resident may be considered.

Our Internal Medicine residency program is accredited for 45 residents. The Associate Program Director will participate in the recruitment, selection, teaching, evaluation and mentorship of our residents. They will assist with the didactic curriculum, residency quality improvement / patient safety projects and can participate on applicable hospital committees. They will have an average of 20 hours per week of protected administrative time.
