North Florida Regional Medical is seeking a nurse practitioner or physician assistant to work with their growing cardiac surgery team in the CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit).
• 10 hour shifts
• 13 shifts / month
• 1 weekend / month

Summary of Essential Job Duties:
Under the supervision of the Cardiothoracic Surgeons and within the Nurse Practitioner's competence, the Nurse Practitioner provides medical services to adult cardiac surgical patients. The Nurse Practitioner will care for the patients in the cardiac surgery ICU ranging from CABG and valve replacement/repairs including TAVR to implantable VADs, ECMO and aneurysm repairs. In addition, the Nurse Practitioner will perform bedside procedures within the scope of service, will write progress notes, participate in daily rounds, write orders, dictate discharge notes, and participate in hospital wide quality improvement initiatives. The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, and ensure continuity of care.
-Master of Nursing Degree Physician’s Assistant Licensure required
-Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the Florida Board of Registered Nursing or Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program approved by the Florida Board of Medicine
-Current State of Florida Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant License
-National Certification by respective accredited professional nursing organization such as the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistant’s (NCCPA).
-Current BLS/ACLS certification
-New graduates welcomed
-Experience with managing cardiothoracic surgery patients or cardiac patients is preferred
-ICU experience preferred
-Working experience as a Nurse Practitioner/PA preferred
