In 2000, Capital Regional Medical Center announced a new $100 million dollar replacement hospital designed by world-renowned architect Michael Graves, known for his design of the NCAA Hall of Champions and his designs for domestic products sold at Target stores. In 2003, the brand new 198-bed acute care hospital opened its doors with the areas only all-private bed facility. We expanded in 2013, adding an additional 44 all-private beds. Capital Regional Medical Center is seeking a board eligible / board certified general surgeon to join their established employed practice.
The practice covers a wide range of general procedures including bread and butter, breast, laparoscopic (hernia, gallbladder, colon, appendectomy,) GI (gastric, small bowel, colorectal) and some pediatric surgery. Interest or experience in colorectal or breast surgery - fellowship not required. Capital Regional Medical Center has the da Vinci Si robot as well.
The incoming surgeon would join two experienced surgeons. Practice call is 1:3 and facility / ER call will be 1:5. Cover only one facility. Office is located on hospital's campus.
Large referral base with employed primary care network and busy ER.
