Ocala Regional Medical Center is part of Ocala Health System, a 2-facility health system with 360 beds. Facilities have been consistently growing over the course of the last 5 years, having invested $136 M in capital improvements through 2016. Facility has another $110 M in construction underway to include expansion of ER, OR, and IP Bed Capacity at both facilities. Ocala Health is a high functioning Level II Trauma Center, and is the only trauma center in Marion, Hernando and Citrus counties. The facility also leads a growing GME program in partnership with UCF.

Job Summary

Ocala Health, located in Ocala, Florida, in conjunction with the University of Central Florida College of Medicine (UCF COM) is seeking applicants for a Hematology Oncology Program Director.

The UCF COM/HCA GME Consortium will apply for a Hematology Oncology fellowship at Ocala Regional Medical Center. We already have a family medicine and internal medicine residency in place and are opening a General Surgery and Emergency Medicine residency program summer 2017.

The main UCF COM campus offers state-of-the-art medical education and research facilities and is located in Lake Nona Medical City, near Orlando.

The incoming physician will assist in building a community academic center of excellence that will offers its fellows the education and training they need to develop personal, clinical, and professional competence under the guidance and supervision of a knowledgeable faculty and skilled staff. Position has protected time and incoming physician would be at least .5 provider in the practice. The practice consists of 4 physicians, 4 nurse practitioners and 2 locations within the Ocala area.

Qualifications:
• Must be board certified in at least internal medicine. Board certification in hematology / oncology preferred.
• At least 5 years participation as active faculty
• Involvement with scholarly activity preferred (peer-reviewed publications).
